Dental implants are changing the way people live!

With dental implants, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life. Dental implants are tiny titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone where there are missing teeth. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, implants can help preserve your facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that usually occurs when teeth are missing.

Are Dental Implants the Best Choice for You?

They’re the optimal solution for most people with good oral health, because they very closely resemble your natural tooth structure, and they look like real teeth, too. A post is anchored where the root of your tooth once was, which provides strength and helps prevent bone loss that naturally occurs when teeth are missing. They also have a porcelain crown placed on top that’s custom-made to match your other teeth. This means that they’re incredibly durable, and nobody will be able to tell it isn’t your real tooth.

If, like many others, you feel implant dentistry is the choice for you, we ask that you undergo a dental/radiographic examination and health history. During these consultation visits, your specific needs and considerations will be addressed by our dentists. Your questions and concerns are important to us and our team will work with you very closely to help make your procedure a success. What's involved in a Dental Implant Procedure?

Dental implants are simply metal anchors, which act as tooth root substitutes. We surgically place them into the jawbone. Small posts are then attached to the implant, which extend slightly beyond the gum line. These posts them become anchors to attach the artificial replacement teeth.

For most patients, the placement of dental implants does involve two office procedures. During the first visit, the dental implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. At the same time, your restorative dentist designs the final dental bridgework or denture.

After the implant has bonded to your jawbone, the second phase begins. Your dentists will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. Then, your new teeth will be made. At the end, the posts will be connected to the implants, and the replacement teeth are placed over the posts. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.
